Juba do Leão are guaranteed to get people dancing, and our unique style of percussion and dance provides a high-quality performance which always leaves the crowd wanting more!

Your event

Juba do Leão are very flexible in catering for your event. We are available for indoor and outdoor events such as:

Festivals
School fun days
Parties
Corporate events
Workshops
Sports events
Parades
Club gigs
Community events
University and college celebrations
Launches
Theatre performances
Charity and fundraising events

...and any other scenario you can think of!

Performance combinations

Juba do Leão is currently comprised of 30+ performers; percussionists, dancers, melody instrumentalists and vocalists. Depending on the size and/or nature of your event/performance area, we can provide the most suitable combination to complement your event.

Possible performance combinations:

8-20 percussionists
8-20 percussionists with up to 6 dancers
8-20 percussionists with up to 6 dancers and up to 5 vocalists
All of the above including 7-piece melody section ‘Zunido’ (consisting of acoustic guitar, bass, violin and flute). This 7-piece band also performs in its own right.

‘Zunido’ and PA set

You may wish to book a PA performance from our associated band ‘Zunido’, a 7-piece melody outfit consisting of vocals, guitar, bass, violin and percussion. This set up is particularly suitable for smaller spaces such as bars, clubs or foyer performances. If you would like the vocalists and/or melody section to perform at your event, you will need to supply a PA system (though we do have a bag of mics and leads if needed!).

Outdoor events

As hardy Northerners, we regularly perform in both indoor and outdoor settings. However, our traditional wooden drums suffer when they get wet if we’re parading/performing in the traditional English pouring rain! In this eventuality it may be necessary to provide cover for us to perform under, and in extreme weather we may be unable to perform if rain stops play, so to speak!

Fee

Our fee varies depending on:

Duration/number of performance(s)
Number of performers
Distance to event to cover band expenses

For events further afield or during the busy Summer/Christmas periods, a deposit may be required and due to unfortunate experiences it may also be necessary for us to charge a cancellation fee if the booking is cancelled at short notice.
